Webster Technique

Many changes occur to the woman’s body during pregnancy. As your baby continues to grow, more pressure is placed on the mom’s pelvis and lumbar spine. Regular adjustments throughout your pregnancy prepares your body, allowing your baby to be in the optimal position for a natural delivery. Chiropractic adjustments maintain pelvic space so the uterus may expand with the developing fetus.

At Westchase Wellness, we take special care of our pregnant patients. We tailor our adjustments to match the stage of your pregnancy and take pride in providing the most optimal care. There is no greater reward than knowing that our services has made a difference in the lives of our patients and their newest family member.

Dr. Huang is a member of ICPA and is certified in the Webster Technique – trained to work specifically with pelvic balance in pregnancy.

What is the Webster Technique?

According to the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (I.C.P.A), The Webster Technique is defined as a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nerve system and facilitates biomechanical balance in pelvic structures, muscles and ligaments. The technique has been shown to reduce the effects of intrauterine constraint, allowing the baby to get into the best possible position for birth. At no time should this technique be interpreted as an obstetric, “breech turning” technique.

Is the Webster Technique safe?

This technique is very safe and can be performed on pregnant women in all stages of pregnancy.

How many treatments do I need?

There is no exact timeframe as this varies from patient to patient; as there are many factors that effect this.  It is possible for the technique to work within the first few visits and sometimes it may take a couple of weeks.
